The heat is coming!!!!

It is definitely heating up quickly in the valley!  According to my jeep's temp gauge (which is the only true way to know the temp!) it was 101 degrees on Thursday.  Thankfully, it's cooled down a bit for this week, and it's only going to be 82 degrees today.

We've definitely been keeping busy lately.  It seems like we always have a HUGE to-do lists of projects around the house, but we either can't find the (1) time, (2) motivation, or (3) money to complete the projects.  To help ME organize my list (and bore you to death), here are some of the projects we want to complete around the house:
  1. Put together the patio furniture.  We recently purchased a new patio table and chairs set from Sears (we sold our old set on Craigslist!), but we haven't gotten around to assembling it.  We also purchased adirondack chairs and a table from Home Depot for the front patio, but again, haven't assembled those items yet...plus they need to be painted white (or stained...but painting just sounds easier).
  2. Chris wants to build a pergola like this.  Over our back patio to extend the covering that already exists.  It will basically be on the side of the existing cover for now and then Chris plans to tear down the existing cover and build a pergola all the way across the patio.  Ugh...that's definitely a big project.
  3. Updating the bathrooms.  Nothing is wrong with the bathrooms...it's all aesthetics.  Replacing the cabinets and vanities is WAY out of our budget, but there are some smaller projects that could make a big difference!  We have the contractor type lights and faucets (not sexy).  We've already selected the replacing items (lights and faucets) and have new towel bars and hardware sitting in our spare bedroom waiting for their final resting place...but it still has not happened!  Additionally, we have the LARGE plain mirrors in each bathroom, and we want to put some trim around it to make it look like a framed mirror (super easy and shouldn't take long...but still haven't done it!!!).  Finally, painting!  We've painted every room in the house BUT our bathrooms.  Everything looks better with a fresh coat of paint.
  4. Swith around the guest room and gym.  This absolutely HAS to be done before we have visitors in two weeks.  I don't know what Chris was thinking when he switched the rooms, but our guests should not have to stay in the room that smells like a cat's toilet.  :-)
Anywho.  That just helped me mentally get organized.  So much to do!  We have Meagan and Matt (Chris's sister and brother in law) visiting in two weeks for an entire week.  We are going to Greer, AZ with some friends the last weekend in April.  We have David visiting for a weekend in May.  And then we have our trip to Nebraska for Lindsay's wedding at the end of May.  John and Melissa (my brother and sister-in-law) are coming down for a trip at the end of June/early July.  Busy, busy, busy!

I think we need to buy a pool for Morgie for the backyard.  There's one at Target that looks fun...but it's a little pricy!  Time to shop around!

Here are some pics of Morgie before church yesterday!
